Humana Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio Marathon

The flat and fast marathon and half marathon routes are perfect for runners and walkers at every level. The race routes will highlight the signature sights of San Antonio, including the Alamo and lush Mission Trail, home of five missions and centuries of culture. In true rockstar fashion, 70 live bands, 40 cheer teams and themed water stations will line the course to keep you entertained from start to finish.

THE NUTCRACKER

December 21 to December 23
Set to Peter Ilych Tchaikovsky’s beloved score, The Nutcracker is, by far, the most widely attended ballet in America. The first American production of the ballet was staged in 1944 by the San Francisco Ballet. Ten years later, the late choreographer George Balanchine introduced his famous production of The Nutcracker at the New York City Ballet, a staging largely responsible for the ballet becoming part of the Christmas tradition in the United States.

Celebrate San Antonio

December 31 to December 31
An annual New Year’s Eve event. With live music, thousands of excited revelers, fireworks and entertainment for the entire family on tap during Celebrate San Antonio, this event has grown in popularity each year. The huge downtown fiesta begins at noon in historic La Villita. Great food & beverages can also be found on S. Alamo Street between Market and Cesar Chavez Blvd after the official opening at 5 p.m. The highlight is the countdown to midnight and the spectacular Fireworks Extravaganza showcasing the Tower of the Americas. Admission is FREE and open to the public and festivities continue until 1:00 a.m.
